Bio of Augusta Williams Jr

Augusta Williams Jr was born in Cocoa, Florida on May 30, 1958. He became a interested in writing at the age of 10;his first commissioned poem was written for his church when he was 13. He graduated from Cocoa high School and attended Miami-Dade South Community College where he studied drama and creative writing and was a long distance runner and Olympic contender. Williams has written more than 300 poems, produced a TV show on social issues written a weekly newspaper column as well as a screenplay and lyrics, and directed a video based on his novella The Christmas Story. He is married to former Air Force Lieutenant Patricia Evans and has five children.
