Ode to Dad
e
Augusta reads a touching tribute to is late father Augusta Williams Sr. He is reading a tribute entitled, 'Ode to Dad.'
Ode to Dad
Long before the sun would rise,
He would be gone.
And long after the sun would set,
He still worked on
Head of the house and father of the home.
Mom, Augusta, Dale, Joann, Michael and Ronald
Counted on him to be strong.
Thirty-three years and eight grandchildren later,
That format never changed.
Six more grandchildren, eight great grand
and a golden anniversary have added to that range
And his format still remains the same
A great Stewart to his God, his church and his family
That routine will forever sustain
And for his community always did what he could
And his workers ordained him
the economic stimulus of the neighborhood
Things weren’t always perfect but still we were glad,
To have Augusta Williams Senior
To stand as our Dad!
Long before the sun would rise,
He would be gone.
And long after the sun would set,
He still worked on
By Augusta Williams Jr.
